About Pokemon Let's Go Eevee GBA
When Nintendo released Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! on Switch in 2018, they revived the Yellow-era Kanto adventure in a new style — simplified catching, a partner Pokémon that follows you everywhere, and a roster anchored to the original 151 with just a few additions. Kevin PokeFan took that concept and asked what a GBA version might look like, then actually built it.
Let's Go Eevee GBA is a demake rather than just an inspired hack. It attempts to translate the Switch game's features — partner starter, regional forms, the Let's Go style of Pokémon presentation — onto the FireRed engine, and adds a substantial amount on top: Pokémon from Generations 2 through 9, every set of regional forms up to Paldea, Mega Evolution, new area layouts, and postgame content the Switch original never had.
The hack has been through multiple major versions, reaching v8.0. It is actively maintained and updated, with each version adding Pokémon, fixing bugs, improving sprites, and expanding content. The most recent versions added Gen 9 Pokémon, Hisuian and Paldean forms, and new exclusive attacks for Galar, Hisui, and Paldea creatures.

Version history highlights

v6.0 — English fan translation available

Let's Go Pikachu companion
Kevin PokeFan also created Let's Go Pikachu GBA, updated alongside Eevee. Has the Safari Zone (Eevee does not). Version-exclusive Pokémon and Alolan variants differ. Both hacks are available on RomHaven.
Pokémon & Regional Forms
One of the biggest selling points of Let's Go Eevee GBA is the sheer scope of the roster. The original 151 Kanto Pokémon are joined by creatures from Generations 2 through 9, and every set of regional variants is represented.
All four regional form sets
- Alolan forms (from Sun and Moon) — available in both versions, with version-specific differences in which Alolan variants appear
- Galarian forms (from Sword and Shield) — including Galarian Pokémon with their unique typings and evolution methods
- Hisuian forms (from Legends: Arceus) — added in v8.0, with Hisuian evolutions handled through new in-game items
- Paldean forms (from Scarlet and Violet) — also added in v8.0, alongside new exclusive attacks for Paldea region Pokémon
Mega Evolution
Mega Evolution is available for Pokémon that received Mega forms in X, Y, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire. This is not limited to the player — rival trainers and gym leaders in the postgame also use Mega Pokémon in their teams, making rematches more demanding than the initial gym challenges.
New evolutionary stones
Several new evolutionary stones have been added to the game alongside new ways to obtain them. This supports the wider roster of cross-gen and regional evolutions that were not in the original FireRed — you will not be locked out of evolutions that require items not normally found in Kanto.
Who should play Pokemon Let's Go Eevee GBA
- Fans of the Nintendo Switch Let's Go games who want to experience a similar adventure on a GBA-compatible device or browser — the demake premise is the main draw.
- Players who specifically want Eevee as a partner starter and enjoy building teams around it in a Kanto setting.
- Collectors who want the widest possible roster access — Gen 1–9 with all four regional form sets gives extraordinary team-building options for a FireRed base.
- Spanish-speaking players, for whom this hack is natively designed and fully supported.
- English-speaking players who are comfortable playing with Spanish text, or willing to seek out the v6.0 community translation.
Tips for new players
- Use Eevee's flexibility early. Eevee can evolve into eight different forms, each covering a different type. Your early team direction — and what types you will need coverage for — can influence which Eeveelution is most useful for your run.
- Check Move Tutors early and often. Move Tutors are infinitely reusable in Let's Go Eevee GBA. There is no reason to ration them — use them freely whenever you want to teach a Pokémon a move, and revisit tutors as your team evolves.
- Mew is available from the start. Unlike the original Switch game, Mew does not require a Poké Ball Plus accessory here. Find it early and decide whether you want to incorporate it into your team.
- HM Flash is gone. It has been replaced with Thunder Wave, which is far more useful in battle. Your utility move slot is now genuinely competitive.
- Wormholes open up the roster. New wormhole areas added to the hack provide access to Pokémon from later generations that would not normally appear in Kanto. Explore them when they become available.
- Postgame rematches are harder. Gym leaders in the postgame use Mega Pokémon and teams drawn from the full Gen 1–9 roster. Build for rematches with that in mind rather than assuming they mirror the initial challenge.
Frequently asked questions
What is Pokemon Let's Go Eevee GBA?
A Pokémon FireRed ROM hack by Kevin PokeFan that demakes the Nintendo Switch Let's Go, Eevee! game for the GBA. It features Eevee as a partner starter, Gen 1–9 Pokémon, Mega Evolution, all four regional form sets, PokéRides, new maps, wormholes, the Sevii Islands, gym leader rematches, and reusable Move Tutors.
Is it in English?
The official releases by Kevin PokeFan are in Spanish. An unofficial community English translation of v6.0 exists, but it is not kept current with newer versions. The most recent v8.0 is Spanish only.
What is the difference between the Eevee and Pikachu versions?
Partner starter (Eevee vs Pikachu), version-exclusive wild Pokémon, different Alolan variants, and one key split: the Safari Zone is available in the Pikachu version but not the Eevee version. Everything else — maps, events, forms, Mega Evolution — is shared.
What regional forms are included?
All four sets: Alolan (Sun/Moon), Galarian (Sword/Shield), Hisuian (Legends: Arceus), and Paldean (Scarlet/Violet). Hisuian and Paldean forms were added in v8.0.

Yes. Unlike the original Switch game which required a physical Poké Ball Plus accessory, Mew is obtainable directly in the game from the beginning of your adventure.
Can I play on mobile?
Yes. RomHaven's browser emulator works on both mobile and desktop without any downloads required.
